Trang An is a famous eco-tourist site in Ninh Binh, located on the territory of Ninh Binh city and three districts of Hoa Lu , Nho Quan and Gia Vien. With an area of over 2000 hectares, the population of beauty spots in Trang An, Ninh Binh, Vietnam is created by limestone mountain ranges, mysterious caves and valleys, rivers, along with dozens of historic and cultural sites. All of them blend together creating the magical space.

Introduction of Trang An – Halong Bay on land
Trang An eco-tourist area belongs to the natural stronghold mountain range of Hoa Lu ancient capital. The area is surrounded by mountains and below each mountain is miraculous caves interconnected with each other by the water valleys stretching kilometers. The system of caves here is quite diverse in shapes and types, each of them contains distinctive shades with thousands of stalactites in different shapes formed by the dissolution and deposition of limestone throughout millions of years. All of these features make the majestic scenery and many tourists compare Trang An to Ha Long Bay on land.

Of the caves here, many caves were the residence of primitive men. In reality, scientists have found out many relics and vestiges of prehistoric man. For example, Trong cave is discovered to include traces of prehistoric men about 20 thousand years ago or Boi cave was home to prehistoric men 10 thousand years ago. It can be said that Trang An is not only a great masterpiece of nature for tourism development but also a geological museum that has a special significance to scientific research.

Temples

Trinh temple (or Trinh shrine), a sacred thousand-of-year temple in Ninh Binh. This temple was built in the reign of Dinh Emperor to worship two gods named Ta Thanh Tru and Huu Thanh Tru. This will be the first destination in your journey.
Tran temple is an ancient stone temple, built in 968 to worship a general in the period of the 18th Hung king with the title of Thanh Quy Minh. Tran temple is decorated with numerous patterns that are carved delicately and vividly, showing great skills of the artists at that time.
Phu Khong standing a thousand-of-year tree in front of the door, is the place of worship of the church is Dinh Cong Tiet Che, a loyal mandarin under the dynasty of the Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang.

If you have not visited water caves before, the exploration of the system of caves here will bring you strange feeling immediately when your boat enters the cave mouth. Although Trang An does not own magnificent caves and magical stalagmite stalactite forests, its caves bring different unique features. In particular, Seo cave is so deep with luxuriant vegetation at the entrance. Ba Giot cave contains stalactites in the shape of water drops. There are a lot of old jars in Nau ruou cave. Legend has it that this is where wine was cooked to serve mandarins. Besides, there are many other unique caves such as Sang cave, Toi cave and Son Duong cave.
